MJ leads the JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group practice in Seoul, South Korea. The addition of the Hotels & Hospitality Group in Seoul will strengthen to JLL’s existing market expertise in the South Korean market. MJ oversees both investment sales and advisory for the domestic market, while also collaborating with the global JLL team to provide services related to cross-border transactions. By leveraging the strength of the global Hotels & Hospitality Group, MJ will provide professional services for all stages of the investment cycle—from deal sourcing, buy-side due diligence, feasibility studies, operator selection, asset management, and divestment.
MJ joined JLL in 2021 and opened the new South Korean Hotels & Hospitality practice. Prior to joining JLL, MJ was a Manager at Ernst & Young’s Transaction Real Estate Team in Los Angeles, CA. During the eight years at Ernst & Young, MJ provided valuation, due diligence, and feasibility study services for marquee transaction and developments across the globe. Examples include valuation related to Blackstone’s acquisition of MGM International’s real estate portfolio in Las Vegas; buy-side due diligence for Anbang’s $6.5 billion acquisition of the Strategic Hotel portfolio; and buy-side due diligence for transactions of hotel assets and management companies (i.e., Nobu, SBE). MJ also worked in Dubai and Saudi Arabi for three months, assisting EY EMEA with the feasibility study for mega projects such as Amaala and the Red Sea Project. MJ is experienced with all real asset types (i.e., office, retail, industrial, residential, and mixed-use), but always maintained a focus on hospitality.
MJ holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Administration from Cornell University.
