Dr Kruesi started his career in hospitality and tourism in 2004, working in several hotels in New Zealand, Switzerland, and Peru. He received his PhD from Auckland University of Technology in 2015, after which he worked in universities in Taiwan, and now, Singapore.
Dr Kruesi’s academic focus is best summarized by the three pillars of sustainability: environmental protection, economic viability, and social wellbeing, where specifically, he researches and teaches about; non-equity governance structures, leadership practices that promote employee welfare, as well as the measurement and benchmarking of the environmental impacts of hotels, attractions, and events.
Additionally, Dr Kruesi is the Founder of Xterra Tech, a research-driven technology-based company, providing innovative sustainability solutions for the hospitality and tourism industry.
