Regarding HSMAI, I am currently a member of the HSMAI APAC Commercial Advisory Board.
My twin interests in economics and hospitality management have led to a two-decade-long career helping to build the brands of some of the biggest names in hospitality.
In that time, I have gained broad experience in applying data analytics and optimization to identifying, understanding, and mastering customer journeys, contributing to incremental revenues and bottom-line success.
Among the brands I have worked with are Las Vegas Sands Corp in Singapore and Macao, and the Starwood, Le Meridien and Taj groups in the Middle East and India. This includes pioneering Revenue Optimization for hotels and casinos, as well as developing marketing initiatives for LVS’ Marina Bay Sands integrated resort brand as well as its key pillars. MBS is the most profitable Integrated Resort in the world, with over US$3b in annual revenue and US$1.6b in EBITDA. During my time there, its brand awareness grew to up to 90% in several key markets.
What I have always been drawn to are opportunities at the nexus of marketing and technology that unlock new strategies for growth. Across geographies and roles, I have aimed to deliver both superior branding and enhanced revenue while driving significant cost efficiencies by combining creative intuition with data insights.
But technology alone cannot deliver results – people are the drivers of both change and performance. That is why I am proud of the role I play in coaching and helping to build strong service cultures, rallying teams as large as 10,000 behind a common brand purpose.
It is why I also invest time in the future custodians of our industry, doing visiting lectureships at the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, and ESSEC Business School, where I completed my Master’s Degree, jointly awarded by Cornell University. I also chair the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s Asia Pacific chapter, which develops educational content and provides networking opportunities for young executives in the sector.
When I’m not working, I play cricket and tennis socially, tackle rugged terrain on my mountain bike, and love cooking for my children.
