Garth Simmons embarked on his full-time career in 1988 with Rydges Hotels & Resorts in Australia, advancing to a General Manager by 1998 and later joining Accor in 2007, where he held various strategic roles across Australia and managed Qantas’ First Class Lounges. By 2012, he expanded his influence to Accor New Zealand, Fiji, French Polynesia, and Japan, contributing significantly to the New Zealand tourism sector and leading Accor to become New Zealand’s largest operator. His journey took him to Indonesia in 2015 as the COO for Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, reinforcing Accor’s leading position in these regions. With a career of over 30 years, Garth has driven business transformations, achieved record growth, and actively supported local communities through fundraising initiatives, notably contributing to healthcare facilities in Fiji with the help of the Accor Race to Survive Fiji for Cure Kids.
