I have been involved in building the company’s hospitality business in most of ASEAN and South- Asian markets since 1991. Post 1991, my key focus territory has been South-Asia.

Prior to my being Chairman, South Asia, I served as Executive Vice President,
responsible for the overall strategy, hotel development, management, and functional support of key markets. After taking a step back from day to day operations, I was appointed CE & PA, RHG. However, I continue to be on the board of the Group’s business entities in this region. This includes the joint venture companies.

I also continue to serve as an active member of various Tourism and Hospitality Advisory Committees at the state and national level. I am also on the national board of the CII’s National Tourism committee and Vice President of Hotel Association of India (HAI).

In the past, I have served on the board of directors for the Tourism Corporation of various state governments and religious trusts like Shrine Board of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Trust, Katra.

I was the first Alumni nominated by the Government on the board of governors of the Institute of Hotel Management in New Delhi.

In my capacity as head of ITDC hotels, I served as an executive member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) India Chapter, the American Society of Travel Agents of India, Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI), and India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB).

I am privileged and continue to serve on the board of many charitable organizations
including United Ways Delhi.

In the educational field, I have spearheaded the formation of the Institute for International Management and Technology in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University, UK.

During my tenure in ITDC, besides heading the Hotels Division i was responsible for the introduction of passenger duty-free shopping at India’s international airports.
